Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit
If you are planning the Manaslu Circuit Trek, obtaining the necessary permits is an essential part of the preparation. The Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit is required due to the trek’s location within a restricted area, and these permits help preserve the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Here’s a detailed guide to understanding the requirements for the Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit.
1. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit: The Manaslu Restricted Area Permit, often referred to as the Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit, is issued by the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu. This permit is mandatory for all trekkers and can only be obtained through government-registered trekking agencies. The cost of the Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit depends on the season:
- September to November: USD 100 per person for the first seven days and USD 10 for each additional day.
- December to August: USD 75 per person for the first seven days and USD 10 for each additional day.
Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP): In addition to the restricted area permit, trekkers need the Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP). This permit costs USD 30 per person and is necessary to enter the conservation area, which is rich in biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Since the Manaslu Circuit Trek route merges with the Annapurna region towards the end, trekkers must also obtain the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). Like MCAP, this permit costs USD 30 per person.
TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System): While the TIMS Card is generally required for trekking in Nepal, it is not necessary for the Manaslu Circuit Trek if you already have the restricted area permit and conservation area permits. However, confirm this with your trekking agency for the latest regulations.
Why Are Manaslu Circuit Trek Permits Necessary?
The Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit fees contribute to the maintenance of trekking routes, conservation of the natural environment, and support for local communities. These permits also ensure that trekkers are traveling through the restricted area responsibly and with appropriate guidance.
How to Obtain Manaslu Circuit Trek Permits: All permits, including the Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit, must be arranged through a registered trekking agency in Nepal. Independent trekking is not allowed in the restricted area, so having a licensed guide is mandatory.
Permit Checklist for Manaslu Circuit Trek:
- Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP)
- Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
- Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
Final Notes on Manaslu Circuit Trek Permits: For those seeking more information on trekking permits for other regions in Nepal or additional entrance fees, consult the link Permits and Entrance Fees. Manaslu Circuit Trek Without a Guide:
Trekking in Nepal’s Restricted Areas like Manaslu Circuit, Upper Mustang, and Dolpo requires a qualified guide to preserve indigenous cultures, navigate traditions, and educate on responsible behaviors. Guides ensure legal compliance with Nepalese government laws, balancing sustainable tourism with local identities. Hiring local guides supports the region’s economy and promotes responsible tourism among communities. So Without joining with the local agency and Guide, tourists can’t be involved in the Manaslu Circuit Trek.
If you wanna go cheaper, Also can go with only hiring a guide cum porter who still has a guiding license and pay your other expenses yourself HIRE A GUIDE CUM PORTER With us. A Guide Cum Porter can be hired for going cheaper than hiring a separate guide and porter. By having one person handle both responsibilities.
A Guide Cum Porter is a committed travel companion who can offer you individualized advice and support that helps lessen your weight by transporting some of your baggage. They can accommodate your particular requirements and tastes, resulting in a more personalized hiking experience. Guide cum porter is knowledgeable about the local area, including the hiking routes, sights, culture, and ecology. They may offer insightful commentary and deepen your comprehension of the locations you explore, which can improve your entire trekking experience.

Wonderful Experience
December 12, 2023Wonderful Experience
In December 2023, We completed the Manaslu Circuit treak with Touch The Himalaya. Madan, the owner, was the best company for Us, offering the cheapest price and free gearsand poles. The trek was magnificent, quiet, and less explored. Roshan, the guide, was experienced, kind, and considerate, taking us to the best teahouses and restaurants. Our porter Ramesh was also kind. The scenery was vast, and the trek was not as challenging as expected. Highly recommended for booking with Touch The Himalaya with Madan and Guide as Mr. Roshan.

Unforgettable Experience
December 31, 2021Unforgettable Experience
I was expecting; fun, challenging and good value. I booked a trekking online from Germany.
I met Kabindra in Kathmandu, Kabindra took care of everything around the trekking - pickup, drop at airport, Q&A about Manaslu circuit & Kathmandu as well as. Sincerely grateful to him for having my transit Visa to India ready when I came back from the trek.
During Manaslu trekking, our guide and Raju, was knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. As we were a group of 4, he was making sure the group stay together even if we had more or less the same pace. Every night after dinner, he’d explained the next day's program and ask for any concerns. On top of that, he made fruits to share. That personal touch is meaningful since fruits couldn’t be found in high altitudes.
I truly recommend Touch the Himalaya

Experience of a lifetime
December 31, 2019Experience of a lifetime
I contacted several agencies before the arrival in Nepal, but only Touch the Himalaya provided the combination of itinerary, service and price that I was expecting. Madan always answered my emails very promptly and I felt he was someone I could trust. The eventual itinerary was a 14 day trip to the Manaslu Circuit with Roshan as a guide. Roshan was excellent and his knowledge of the route. Madan and Roshan are from the Manaslu area and both were expert in guiding.
Roshan was patient and very good company during the trek. We did make some changes to the itinerary along the way and Roshan was happy to accommodate, after explaining the various options available. The trek itself was incredibly diverse and beautiful.I would like to recommend Touch the Himalaya, if anyone is looking for a trek to Manaslu, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Wonderful experience to Manaslu
December 6, 2019Wonderful experience to Manaslu
Me with my boyfriend did Manaslu trek with Touch the Himalaya team, it was wonderful experience I ever had. Madan arranged everything from our arrival to departure. Our guide Raju was fantastic, he cared us and was kind. He was from the Manaslu region and has an impressive knowledge and good level of English because of which he explained Nepali culture, rituals and tradition. He accommodated us everything we needed and we are satisfied with their service. I would recommend this agency for other travelers.

Fantastic Manaslu Trek
November 28, 2019Fantastic Manaslu Trek, Fantastic Manaslu Trek, Fantastic Manaslu Trek
Last November me and my friend did the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which was organized by Touch the Himalaya Treks and Expedition. Madan, the manager, is very easy going and makes you feel welcome from the start. They took care of all the necessary arrangements, from all the permits to our airport pickup and a very nice hotel to stay before the trek.
During the trek, we were guided by Bisnu, who is from the Manasly area himself. He is an experienced guide who took very good care of us and is familiar with many of the locals. We got along very well and had a lot of laughs along the way. I think trekking with a guide really contributes to the whole experience. It is easier to make contact with the locals and you can learn about the area and culture.I would definitely recommend Touch the Himalaya Treks and Expedition and our guide Bisnu to anyone planning to go trekking in this area.
Outstanding Trek!
November 25, 2019Outstanding Trek!
I don't know where to begin when praising how wonderful our Manaslu trekking experience was. From Madan creating an outstanding itinerary and answering all our questions (no matter how trivial) to Roshan and Niran our guide and porter going above and beyond catering to all our needs. The Manasalu circut trek is beautiful and a once in a lifetime experience. 'Touch the Himalaya' allows you to access such a special place without the need to worry. I cannot recommend this company enough. Thank you so much for our wonderful trip, we will remember it for the rest of our lives!!

Fantastic trek – Manaslu + Tsum Valley!
November 12, 2019Fantastic trek - Manaslu + Tsum Valley!
We had an amazing time doing the Manaslu + Tsum valley trek with Touch the Himalaya Treks. Madan organized all of the details beforehand and met with us in Kathmandu before leaving. Our guide was Roshan, who contributed to an awesome experience - he was funny, friendly, and so helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the route, hotels and places to eat/stop. We were really happy to have done the Tsum valley as well - there was beautiful Buddhist culture and the geography was a bit different. Roshan and Madan went above and beyond for the trek and even helped with our trip afterwards. I can't say enough good things - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek
October 16, 2019Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek
I booked a Manaslu, Tsum Valley trek with Madan at Touch the Himalayas and every experience from beginning to the end of the trek has exceeded my expectations. Madan is very helpful and patient to make sure all aspects of the trip are planned to your liking. Roshan was my guide and he was fantastic. He was incredibly helpful and patient and always a pleasure to deal with. After 18 days with Roshan I considered him a friend, and cant say enough about how helpful and attentive he was. I am afraid of heights and at key points on the trail where avalanches had occurred he ran ahead and was physically helping me get past areas where I was extremely uncomfortable. It made everything much easier and less stressful for me in the end.
I cant recommend enough Madan and Roshan and Manaslu Tsum Valley enough. It was an experience of a lifetime.
