Fantastic tsum valley trekking with Raju

Raju, our guide, made this Tsum trekking very special. He is kind, wise, thorough going, and fun to be with. He is from the region, so he knows the area and the people very well. That is why you feel very welcome.

We give this experience 6 out of 5 stars

We trekked Manaslu and Tsum Valley with guide Roshan in October and had an amazing time! The views were incredible, the food was much better than we expected with great vegetarian options. Roshan always picked comfortable accommodation and was flexible to alter the itinerary when we wanted to. He was an entertaining and thorough guide who told us all about the vegetation, landscape and culture of each area, while making sure we were aware of all the safety issues (e.g. yaks, stinging nettle, landslide). Highly recommend this trip and Roshan as a guide!

Manaslu Trek with Pratab and Sandip

Manaslu Trek with Pratab and Sandip

Booking our trek through Touch The Himalaya was the best decision for our Manaslu trek. Madan, the owner, answered all our questions in advance and was super relyable and professional. He planed our trek total among our wishes.

Our trekking-guide was Pratab and our porter Sandip.
Pratab is a highly experienced and authentic guide who speaks english fluently and keeps huge knowledge about Nepals culture, nature and people in his backpack.... He was a lovely guide and became our friend during our two weeks trek. He does everything to makes his costumers happy! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time with you! Thank you for everything!!

Sandip was a enormous help during our trek. Not only because he carried all our stuff. We really enjoyed the time with him because of his nice, polite and helpful person. He interduced us also to nepalise music (which we really loved) and taught us about cultural behaviour and much more. Thank you so much for everything bai!!

Our trip was perfect and these guys were the icing on the cake. Pratab and Sandip are a perfect matching team and we are looking forward to do more trekkinga with you!!

Tsum Valley

Tsum Valley

Our guest house connected us with Touch the Himalayas. They then came to discuss options with us at the place we were staying- after having spent the day trying to sort companies this was such a relief!
We were paired up to walk with Raju which turned out to be a perfect match. Similar in age, it was like spending time with another buddy, only he confidently knew his way along the trail.

We had planned to do the Manaslu but when my husband got ill Raju was very patient in accepting our choice to walk out, helping us find any remedies possible en route. We did this quite slowly (20 days?) to complete just the Tsum Valley. Turned out to be an excellent choice though as this way we got to really drink it all in. To top it off, Raju took us up to his family home and we met his wonderful whole-hearted family. Despite an extra hill to walk, it was well worth it.

Manaslu Circuit Trek / Tsum Valley

June 5, 2018

Manaslu Circuit Trek / Tsum Valley

Before arriving in Nepal I had a plan to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek, after hearing about its remoteness (compared to other treks in the area), cultural beauty and natural scenery...it seemed the obvious choice. I knew in order to do the trek though you needed a licenced guide as well as the required permits to enter the region. I have always been quite independent when traveling so the idea of hiring a guide was not something I was looking forward to. When I arrived at the Touch The Himalaya office in Thamel I was greeted by Madan, the owner. He was very clear and concise about all the expenses, permits and explanations about the trek. Mandan was really helpful in organizing our trek promptly, considering our semi time sensitive schedule and within 2 days we had a guide and our permits! We met our guide, Thakur, the following day. The day before we were scheduled to leave we had the unique opportunity of attending our guide's family wedding in Kathmandu! We of course obliged and since we had an extra day to spare we happily attended the wedding as honorary guests.

Our first night on our trek we had the privilege of staying with Thakur's family as his family home is at the start of the Manaslu trekking route. Over the next few weeks we had an incredible experience trekking through the Himalayas with our amazing guide who was able to share knowledge about the surrounding cultures, flora, fauna and religion of the Manaslu region. At the end of our trekking adventure I had an extra night in Kathmandu and Thakur invited me over to his family home for my final dal bhat meal in Nepal. All I can say is that I was so surprised by the professionalism, honesty and generosity of Thakur and am thankful I went with Madan's agency. A lot of things I mentioned above were not expected of my guide but he went above and beyond to deliver me an incredible adventure. I would recommend Touch The Himalaya to anyone looking to go on a trek in Nepal. And make sure to ask for Thakur as your guide!

Tsum Valley Trek Nov 2017

I contacted Touch The Himalayas to enquire about trekking in the restricted area of the Tsum Valley and the Manaslu Conservation Area and, from the outset, the agency was extremely prompt and responsive in their communications with my friend an I. We quickly arranged with Madan an itinerary at a price that was agreeable, permits were quickly organised and we departed the next day. On the trek itself, our guide Hari was very attentive and reliable with every aspect of our trip. I can only thoroughly recommend TTH.

Manasulu & Tsum Valley trek

Touch The Himalaya Treks and Expedition

Kathmandu

18-day trek in Tsum Valley and Manasulu circuit.

My friend and I have just completed the Manasulu / Tsum valley trek and can’t recommend it highly enough – but go soon as there’s lots of evidence of its growing popularity. And be prepared for an intense physical challenge: 30 degree heat down to freezing; “Nepali flat” all the way (ie quite a lot of up and quite a lot of down); routine vertiginous drops, effects of altitude, etc.

All of this, however, is easily outweighed by stunning and varied scenery, local culture, lovely people and not too much tourism. Passing briefly through the tail end of the Annapurna circuit made us SO glad we’d chosen our route. We spent about 5 days In Tsum (but could’ve taken longer) and trekked for 18 days in total. 3 or 4 days R&R in Pokhara at the end is definitely the thing to do at the end.

Having a good guide / agent is key to having a good experience. We booked through Touch The Himalaya. Madan Neupane, the guy in charge, was friendly, efficient, experienced and proactive in meeting our needs – and also very fair in what he did or didn’t charge us for.

He fixed us up with the guide to die for: Ram Adhikari. Ram was experienced, full of local knowledge, very concerned for our welfare and above all fun and friendly (not something every trekker seemed to be experiencing). Ask for him by name if you can when you book or contact Ram directly (+9779841126178 or ram2060@gmail.com).

Go soon – before you’re too old or it changes!

Choose Touch the Himalaya

There is not much i can add to what the people wrote before me. But just to make this crystal clear to anyone who is currently looking for a company he can trust. Do not look further go with Rajesh and his crew.

Rajesh organized the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley Trek for us and it was more than a pleasure. Easy to get in contact with, funny, clever interesting person who you will be very glad to meet if you are coming to the country for the frist time. Organisation was smooth as silk, always on time, replies to mails super fast and the price was more than fair ( we compared to like 3-4) other agencies.

The Trek itself we did with his brother Rabin. And all the good attributes appear to run in the family. A funny, sincere human being that we got to know as a smart guide and now reckon as a friend.

Thank you. We will come back

Beautiful Trek great organization and friendly guide

Rajesh organized the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley Trek for us and it was such a pleasure. Everything was arranged when we arrived in Kathmandu and Rajesh is very kind. His english is excellent, so communication is very easy. He always made sure to answer all our requests via email or facebook in no time. He explained all the details of the trek and his younger brother Rabin was our guide for 21 days. Rabin is so kind and funny.

We enjoyed his company very much and loved to play endless cardgames with him, which he tends to win :) He always made sure we were safe and happy during the trek, taking care we stayed at the best lodges in town. Every evening he briefed us about the next days trek and he knows the region very well, as he has been many times and is from there. His company during the trek enhanced our experience so much, we would do a trek with him again anytime!
After the trek Rajesh spontaneously organized us a 3 day trip to Chitwan national park. Again, everything was very well organized and we didn't need to worry about a thing.

Date of experience: March 2016
