Outstanding company!
If you’re looking for a safe, reputable and easy to deal with trekking company, then you have found it with Touch the Himalaya. From the moment I made contact with the owner Madan, I received outstanding service and attention to detail. He was patient answering all my questions and pieced together an incredible hike with ease. Madan himself was at the airport to collect me, and brought a bag of fruit as he thought we would be hungry after a long flight (and yes we were!). We were then swiftly taken to the accommodation in Kathmandu and were made to feel extremely welcome by all the hotel staff. The next day we were met by Madan again and escorted to the office to fine tune the hike details and to meet our guide Ram and porter Roshan, both of whom took time out in their day to take us around town to do some last minute shopping and negotiate great prices for equipment needed.
We headed off on our Manaslu Circuit trek the next day and I could not fault a thing. Ram was an outstanding guide who did everything he possibly could to make our experience amazing. He was funny, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable of the Manaslu area since he was raised in the valley… he knew everyone! This made a difference as we didn’t feel like tourists, but more like guests of Ram’s to the area. My hiking partner was my mum who is almost 70 and had never done a trek like this before. Ram never left her side and made sure she was safe at all times. Roshan was also a fantastic porter who made us laugh with his cheeky smile and great card playing skills! We felt like a little family by the end of the hike, and were very sad to say goodbye.
We left Kathmandu in November, and received personal Christmas greetings from both Madan and Ram… our new friends.
I can’t recommend this company enough, I honestly couldn’t say a bad word about them. I am extremely well traveled and this company is above and beyond expectations! Thank you Madan, Ram & Roshan for an unforgettable experience!
