When there is a crisis or need for search and rescue efforts, this information is given to the relevant authorities.
The TIMS card also helps in the regulation of the trekking sector by banning unauthorized and illegal trekking operators from offering services in Nepal. Also, it guarantees that trekkers receive the most basic amenities, including medical examinations, rescue operations, and travel insurance.
